Cynthia Finn Barry, CPA has a diverse professional background, which includes forensic accounting, fraud investigations, auditing, tax planning and consulting. Ms. Barry has worked at Sheehan & Company since graduating from college in 1990 and has extensive experience with companies covering a broad range of industries including construction, retail, hotel and restaurant, not-for-profit and technology. She has worked closely with attorneys in preparing cases for trial and arbitration in matters of construction claims, lost earnings, matrimonial, and shareholder disputes.
As an active member of the Suffolk Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), Cynthia is a Past President for the Suffolk Chapter, serves on the statewide Board of Directors and is a former member of the Executive Committee. She is one of the founding members of the first New York State Young CPAs Committee, which provides a forum to develop leadership, public speaking and networking skills.
Cynthia is also the 2003 recipient of the prestigious Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award, which recognized her distinguished and exceptional public service accomplishments. Each year she coordinates a tremendously successful Toys For Tots drive through the NYSSCPA, which collects over thirty-five hundred toys for economically disadvantaged children from Long Island. In 2007, Cynthia was honored by the Long Island Press as a Woman of Achievement in its Fortune 52 listing.
Cynthia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. Joseph's College and a Master's degree in Taxation from Long Island University and became a Partner at Sheehan & Company in 2004.
