Cynthia Finn Barry receives prestigious Arthur J. Dixon Memorial Award
Cynthia D. Finn Barry, C.P.A., a manager at Sheehan & Company, C.P.A., P.C. was selected as the 2003 co-recipient of the prestigious AICPA Arthur J. Dixon Memorial Award. This award was established by the AICPA in 1982 in recognition of Arthur J. Dixon's distinguished and exceptional public service accomplishments.

Joann Golden, C.P.A., President of the New York State Society of CPAs, at the 106th Annual Election Meeting and Dinner at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, presented the award to Mrs. Finn Barry on May 15, 2003.

Mrs. Finn Barry has served on the executive board of the New York State Society of CPAs, Suffolk Chapter and has chaired and sat on numerous committees within the State Society. Cynthia is a co-founder of the Young CPAs Committee, a pilot program started approximately nine years ago, which has served as a model program for other state wide chapters, encouraging younger members of the profession to get involved and voice their opinions on important issues facing our profession and foster networking with their peers.

In addition to her service with the Suffolk Chapter of the NYSSCPA, Cynthia leveraged her experience by benefiting many local charitable organizations including organizing what has now become one of the largest Toys-For-Tots programs on Long Island.
