Partners - Thomas J. Novak
Thomas Novak, CPA, began his career at Sheehan & Company in 1979, and was made a partner in 1988. He provides expert guidance to hundreds of clients in the Construction, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Service, Retail, Not-for-profit and Hospitality Industries both domestically and internationally. From coast to coast, Japan to the Czech Republic, no distance barriers stand in the way of delivering timely service and cutting edge creativity.

Tom oversees the firm's litigation support practice, which includes management level professionals highly skilled in forensic investigations, expert testimony, business valuations, computations of damages, construction contractor claims, and matrimonial issues.

Mr. Novak has served the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants in many capacities. He is a past President of the Suffolk Chapter and has held all of its director and officer positions. He has served as Chairperson of the NYSSCPA Statewide Construction Contractors Technical Committee at its Annual Educational Conference. He has been a member, liaison or chairperson of the Litigation Support Committee, Real Estate Committee, Scholarship Committee, Bylaws Committee, Nominating Committee, Furtherance Committee, Young CPAs Committee and the CPA Candidates Association. In addition, he has developed and presented several continuing education courses on various tax, accounting and consulting topics for CPAs, members of industry and students. Tom was also the recipient of the 1999 NYSSCPA Distinguished Service Award.

Tom is also the liaison partner for BDO Seidman Alliance of Independence CPA firms. His position coordinates our firms, national and international, use of the BDO Seidman resources for the benefit of Sheehan & Company clients.

Tom is an active member of several community and religious organizations as an officer, director, trustee, financial advisor or committee chair.

Tom enjoys spending his leisure time with his wife Victoria, and their two children. He plays golf and is founder and commissioner of the Smithtown Jr. Golf League.
